Making a difference

What do we mean by impact?

There are many definitions of social impact. Good Finance from Big Society Capital says:

"Social impact is the effect on people and communities that happens as a result of an action or inaction, an activity, project, programme or policy."

They have a great video that explains it too:

We think it means intentionally trying to make a positive difference to the lives of people in our communities and that is what One and All is all about. We are structured as a Community Interest Company, meaning we have our intentions embedded in our Articles of Association - we exist to make a positive difference.

So what does our "impact" look like?

One and All American Football is a new organization but those leading it have been involved in American Football for many years. They have seen the difference that participating in our sport can make. So our intentions are set out in our Vision, Mission and Values but to give some examples, this is the type of impact we are hoping to achieve.

  • Reduce isolation
  • Increase participation and choice
  • Improve physical fitness
  • Tackle obesity
  • Improve mental health
  • Improve self discipline and self-confidence
  • Increase inclusivity

These are just a few of the key indicators that we hope to achieve. We will be measuring our impact and reporting on our progress as we go.
